This collaborative effort, led by the National Agency Against Trafficking in Persons (NAATIP), brings together key partners United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNOHCHR), under the PROMIS Project, with national stakeholders.
The workshop’s agenda focuses on a more inclusive, well-coordinated, and action-oriented consultation meeting. We began with insightful welcome remarks from Ms. Sarcia Chouchane, UNODC Representative, followed by an overview of the workshop and the official opening by the NAATIP Board Chair, Mr. Ebrahima Sanneh.
The workshop brings together key national stakeholders to present, review, and validate the findings of the desk review, SWOT analysis, and gap assessment conducted as part of the preparatory phase. These foundational documents are critical for building a robust, evidence-based, and effective National Action Plan that addresses our nation’s specific challenges and opportunities in the fight against human trafficking.
This consultation marks a significant step toward strengthening The Gambia’s national response to human trafficking through a comprehensive, evidence-based, and multi-stakeholder approach.
